PAT Testing Price Guide
At Portable Appliance Testing UK, we aim to make obtaining a PAT Testing quote as straightforward as possible. While we recommend contacting us for a personalized price, we also offer standard pricing for your convenience. Our prices are always fair and competitive, reflecting the time, wages, and other costs involved.
We strive to offer fixed rates, either hourly or per job, but due to industry standards, we operate on a ‘piece rate’ basis. This means we have a fixed initial price that covers the first set of items, followed by a per-item charge thereafter.
Our PAT Testing price structure is simple:
✔ Initial Fee: Covers the first 20 items to test; each additional item is charged separately.
✔ Volume Discount: The more items you have, the greater the discount. However, we maintain a fair approach as each item requires the same amount of time and effort.
✔ Fixed Pricing Preference: Ideally, we provide a fixed price for the job or a per-item rate.
✔ Free Repairs: We don’t charge for standard repairs (e.g., BS1363 plugs). If you need a plug or fuse replaced, we’ll do it for free.
✔ Price Guarantee: The price you agree to now is guaranteed to remain the same for the next three years.
We charge an initial fee which covers travel costs, our initial fee is £55.00

PAT testing is conducted in workplaces like offices, salons, restaurants, and more to ensure electrical equipment remains as safe as when it was first purchased. This process identifies any developing issues and confirms that appliances are still safe to use. Regular PAT testing helps business owners comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations.
